Collection of data on machine lubrications with barcode scanner
During machine lubrication it is possible to enter data on the used lubricant quantities in the barcode scanner by means of the Yamatec PocketOil program installed in the scanner. The operator scan the barcode from the machine lubrication point label first. On the basis of the barcode the Yamatec PocketOil program identifies the machine, the lubrication point and the lubricant used at the given machine lubrication point. Thereafter, the operator enters the type of the executed task and finally the quantity of the used lubricant.
To enable this operating procedure, it is necessary to print the labels with barcodes of the lubrication points first. This is secured by the Yamatec Oil program. Afterwards, these labels are attached on the machine lubrication points. At the same time, it is necessary to print labels with types of work. A type of work can be e.g. inspection, lubricant top-up or lubricant exchange. The labels with the types of work are usually attached to the reader.
When the labels are placed on the machine, the operator can start entering data on the executed lubrications in the scanner. He launches the Yamatec PocketOil program in the scanner and then the module for entering data on executed machine lubrications. When he adds a lubricant in the machine, he reads the barcode of the lubrication point from the machine label first. The Yamatec PocketOil program in the reader identifies the machine, the lubrication point and the lubricant used at this point. Thereafter, the operator enters the type of work (e.g. lubricant exchange) from the label attached to the reader. Finally, he enters the quantity of lubricant he used. He repeats this procedure with all machines determined for lubrication and after each lubrication he enters the required data to the scanner.
After all lubrications are executed, the operator returns to the computer and connects the barcode scanner to the computer via a USB cable. Thereafter, he launches the Yamatec Oil program which loads all recorded lubrication data from the scanner to the computer.
